How To Make Microwave chocolate cake recipe

You don’t need any eggs, it can be made totally dairy-free if you wish and it literally takes 10 minutes to make! No oven is needed because It’s super moist, and the dark chocolate ganache topping makes it so rich and chocolatey.

 To make The best microwave chocolate cake you'll need the following ingredients:

INGREDIENTS

For the cake:

  • 150g plain flour
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 60g cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 90g unsalted butter, melted (can swap for vegetable oil)
  • 380ml warm water

Chocolate ganache topping:

  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 150ml double (heavy) cream
  • Dish size: 7” (microwave safe)

Then let it cool fully in the dish before removing it.

There should be no wet batter visible. If there is, continue to microwave in 30-second bursts until a toothpick comes out clean 

You can swap the ganache topping for Nutella or any other chocolate spread or top it with a buttercream icing of your choice. 

As you know this cake is not too sweet or heavy, so for that feel free to play with the toppings to make it your own.

Microwave Chocolate Cake Recipe

INSTRUCTIONS

Line a 7" cake mould/dish with baking paper.

Whisk together 3/4 + 3tblsp cup plain flour, 1/4 cup + 3tblsp granulated sugar, 1/2 cup + 1tblsp cocoa powder and 2tsp baking powder until combined.

Add 1/4 cup + 2tblsp melted unsalted butter and 1/2 cup + 1tblsp warm water and whisk until smooth.

Pour the cake batter into the dish.

Microwave on medium (400W) for 5-6 minutes and check it with a toothpick to see if it comes out clean.

Microwave for another minute.

In a bowl microwave 1/2 cup + 1tblsp dark chocolate and 1/4 cup + 3tblsp double cream on 600W for 1 minute.

Stir the chocolate mix gently until combined.

Then Flip the cake upside down into a plate and remove the mould and the baking paper.

Let the cake cool.

Pour the melted chocolate over the cake and smooth it out.
